Researchers have decided that AIDs came to America in 1969 from probably a lone Haitian immigrant.  They had thought for a long time that it probably didn’t come straight from Africa but instead used Haiti as a step to get here.

Researchers were able to decide this based off of stored blood samples that they ahd saved years ago for future research.

AIDs has killed more than 25 million people and there are currently about 40 million infected.
